Jungle Mike- From Animal Trapper to Being Caged like an Animal This is the True Story of the "Largest Cocaine Bust in Florida" Preface — I was preparing for a business trip to Greece. I was headed to Countryside Mall in Clearwater when I saw flashing light. "I wonder what poor bastard did something wrong," I said. Then, suddenly I realized the lights were for me. I was being pulled over and asked to step out of the car by some D.E.A. agents. After my car was inspected I was ordered to drive to the office. On the way there D.E.A. agents Mr. Mike Powers and Mr. Crawford said that I ought to tell them the truth. They said I should fess up to the cocaine and it would be better to tell them who it belonged to. What cocaine? I wondered. I told Crawford that I didn't know anything about any cocaine. He insisted that it was in the lumber in the St. Petersburg warehouse of Gulf Exotic or in my rented warehouse of Gulf Exotic. I said I had nothing to hide and before I knew it my warehouse, my home and my whole life was being investigated. Nothing could have prepared me for the nightmare that was to follow and this was just the beginning. Acknowledgments — I dedicate the story that follows to my dear wife, Cecilia, and to all of my children: Marie Konstantas, Mike Jim Tsalickis, Kris- Sula Tsalickis, Asteropi Tsalickis, Dimitrios Tsalickis and George Tsalickis. They understood what I was trying to accomplish in my life, and I will forever be grateful for their love, patience and understanding during my frequent and long absences. At the same time, I wish to acknowledge my dear mother, Maria Tsalickis, and father, James Tsalickis, whose unconditional love sustained and kept me going. Thankyou all.
